The Kona Gold is Shane Dorian’s Signature stick and provides the ultimate Broad Spectrum protection against skin aging UVA rays and skin burning UVB rays. An infusion of beige and yellow tints were color matched to his skin tone. Shane was personally involved in every stage of the development of this product – From research and development, color selection and even the choice of a light, citrus fragrance, which reminded him of the fruit trees in his back yard in Kailua, Kona, Hawaii. Vertra uses "physical blockers" that are mineral based, to protect against both UVB and UVA ultraviolet rays from the sun. This results in a broad spectrum range of product with the highest FDA allowable water resistancy rating of 80 minutes.

The Elite & Signature Face stick ranges are derived using cosmetically formulated and specialized manufacturing processes rarely found in the mass sunscreen market. That is what gives our benchmark products the similar weight and feel of even the finest designer cosmetic brand’s SPF offerings. What you are purchasing is essentially a cosmetic foundation with SPF properties and NOT a sunscreen face stick with pigment. There IS a difference.

All Vertra Sunscreen ingredients are Reef Safe. Our sunscreen products do not contain any Oxybenzone or Octinoxate.

Hawaii has set a ground breaking legislative ban on the selling of any sunscreens that contain Oxybenzone and Octinoxate. Key West Florida has now followed with a similar ban.

The Hawaiian Lifeguard Association was organized in 1990, as an offshoot of the former Hawaii Lifesaving Association, a local chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association. All Vertra Products are mineral based sunscreens with “non-nanotized” zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Non-nanotized means the ingredients are 100 nanometers in diameter or more. Studies show these larger particles to be safer for coral reefs than their chemical counterparts, which are typically under 100 nanometers. A nanometer reading below 100 is considered microscopic and is more easily absorbed by reef and marine life creating disruption.

Vertra's non-nano particles allow us to offer the most effective UVA & UVB broad spectrum protection, while still being safe for reef environments.

Vertra Sunscreen helps prevent sunburn and, if used as directed with other sun protection measures, decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.

Directions:
To Apply, use the scroll reel on the stick to extend a small amount of product
Apply the product to skin area generously and then rub in all exposed areas
Apply 15 minutes before sun exposure
Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating

Reapply:
After 40 minutes of swimming or sweating
Immediately after towel drying
At least every 2 hours
